Voluntary Action Center of Northern Illinois is here to support the needs of the members of our community. Over the years, those needs have grown exponentially. We operate programs in DeKalb, Kendall, LaSalle, Bureau, and Putnam Counties, IL. At VAC, we aim to ensure the health and wellness of those who need us.
Voluntary Action Center depends on the kindness and generosity within our community. Please support our mission with your time, talents, and financial contributions.
Meals on Wheels provides hot, nutritious meals to seniors, individuals with disabilities, and the home-bound.
Nutrition programs include lunches for local daycare providers and congregate meals for senior citizens.
TransVAC offers rides for seniors, those with disabilities, and the public, with dial-a-ride services in rural DeKalb County, Sandwich area, and Kendall Area Transit.

We’re excited to share how TransVAC played a key role in making a difference! Last week, we transported students from ACS Sycamore Campus to The Suter Company, Inc., where they rolled up their sleeves and volunteered with Feed My Starving Children (FMSC).
Their efforts helped pack nutritious meals for those in need worldwide ️—a true testament to the power of partnership and service. We`re proud to be part of a community that prioritizes kindness, teamwork, and giving back.

Thank you to Steve Brewer for his generous $3,000 memorial donation to VAC in honor of his late wife, Eileen. Eileen, who lost her sight at a young age due to diabetes, was a long-time user of our transportation services. Before her passing, she asked for this memorial to be given to VAC, and we are deeply honored by her request. This contribution will go a long way in supporting our programs, helping more individuals like Eileen access the care they need.
